WRAL-TV and UNC-TV’s NC Channel to broadcast 2016 Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade
Presented by the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville

LIVE coverage begins 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 5

Veterans Day ParadeWRAL-TV and UNC-TV’s NC Channel will broadcast the 2016 Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade presented by the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville LIVE on Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m. The parade will also live stream on WRAL.com. WRAL anchors Brian Shrader and Lena Tillett, along with Fayetteville reporter Gilbert Baez will host the broadcast from historic downtown Fayetteville.

This year’s parade will honor World War II veterans – The Greatest Generation. CSM Kenneth “Rock” Merritt, a World War II veteran, is this year’s Grand Marshal. Merritt was part of a combat parachute jump into France on D-Day with the 82nd Airborne Division. More than 100 units will participate in the parade, including veterans’ organizations, military equipment, and ROTC units and marching bands from local high schools and universities.

The parade will begin on Hay Street at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum and end at Liberty Point on Person Street.

WRAL is delighted to continue this partnership with the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville.
