Team to Give Away Prizes to All Fans to Celebrate Historic Occasion
The Durham Bulls are expecting to welcome the 10 millionth ticket purchaser in the team’s Triple-A history this weekend at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Based on the team’s projections, the 10 millionth paid fan will enter the ballpark on either Saturday, August 12 or Sunday, August 13.
To celebrate the occasion, every fan in attendance the day of the celebration will receive a minimum of $25 in Sharper Image Cash. Additionally, each fan in one lucky section will receive a coupon from Jamba Juice entitling them to two smoothies for the price of one, while each fan in one row selected at random will receive a Durham Bulls team-signed baseball.
One randomly selected fan will also win the evening’s grand prize, which includes a $100 gift card to The Angus Barn, a free night’s stay at the Hilton Durham and a $500 shopping spree at the Ballpark Corner Store.
“This is just a small way for us to honor the greatest fans in sports,” Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said. “As a franchise we’re very lucky to have such a passionate, engaged fan base, and this is a fun way for us to give back to those that have supported us since 1998.”
Fittingly, the celebration will come during the 20th anniversary season of the Bulls’ affiliation with the Tampa Bay Rays, after the team moved to the Triple-A classification prior to the 1998 season.
Saturday’s game against the New York Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate will begin at 6:35 p.m. and feature a postgame fireworks show, while Sunday’s game features Field of Hope, Daddy/Daughter Day and postgame Kids Run the Bases. Tickets to the weekend series can be purchased here.
The first-place Durham Bulls are in the midst of a seven-game homestand that continues through Sunday, August 13. Single-game tickets and group ticket packages for the 2017 season are on-sale now at durhambulls.com, the Frontier Communications Ticket Office or by calling 919.956.BULL.
