Television news veteran Jeff Hogan will join the WRAL Morning News team beginning January 29, 2018. Jeff will work alongside the team of Renee Chou, Elizabeth Gardner, Brian Shrader and Lena Tillett along with long-time morning anchor Bill Leslie who is retiring in June.
Hogan is no stranger to local television news, having worked for Columbus, OH 10TV/WBNS since 1998 in a variety of roles. Hogan is currently anchoring weekend newscasts for WBNS and during his almost 20 year tenure served as morning news anchor and primary sports anchor. He has won multiple Emmy and Associated Press awards as well as an Edward R. Murrow Award for breaking news coverage.
WRAL News Director Rick Gall says, “Jeff is a seasoned and accomplished anchor who has a real passion for news. He excels during breaking news and continuous coverage. And I’m confident viewers will find him to be personable and engaging. We’re really excited about adding him to the morning team.”
Prior to his 1998 start in Columbus, Hogan covered sports at television stations across the country including stops in NJ, NY, TX, and VA.
Hogan will serve in a variety of roles at WRAL and will eventually replace Leslie on the anchor desk.

Hogan and his wife, along with their two teenage daughters, are looking forward to making North Carolina home and exploring everything the Raleigh area has to offer, including all the local “foodie” haunts.
An avid endurance athlete, Hogan enjoys volunteering, especially with programs that help differently-abled athletes reach their full potential.
Hogan is a native of Milford, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Rhode Island on a full football scholarship. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, the beach and mountains and golfing.
