Will Allow Listeners to Submit Station Name and Logos, Winners To Earn Donation for Local Charities
CBC Sports Radio has made a few changes that resulted in the creation of a new station. The Buzz and The Ticket will have slight changes on the FM and AM dials, and a new music station will take over at 95.7FM. The shuffle took place on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
The new lineup of CBC’s sports signals will be as follows:
- WCMC-FM 99.9 The Fan – no change
- The Buzz – airs exclusively on 99.3FM/96.5FM
- The Ticket – airs exclusively on WDNC-AM
Basically, WCLY The Ticket programming will be moving to WDNC 620AM, breaking away from the previous 99.3/96.5/620 configuration. The new arrangement will make way for a new, unique music format, with the launch of 95.7FM.
To start, 95.7FM will be known as “That Station,” presenting an eclectic mix of music, programming an Adult Album Alternative/Americana format. CBC has launched the station without a name or a logo to allow for public input. The station will crowd source its name, and the person who submits the winning name will earn a $1,000 donation to the local charity of his/her choice.
After the name has been selected, CBC will hold a similar contest to solicit local artists to design a station logo, again giving back to a local charity as the prize.
To listen and find out more, visit “That Station” website at www.ThatStation.net or download the app for Apple/Android or tune in to 95.7 on your radio.

The daily weekday lineups for both The Buzz and The Ticket will stay exactly the same. Durham Bulls Baseball will no longer air on 620AM with the station changes, but will air as usual on Buzz Sports Radio 99.3FM in Raleigh, 96.5FM in Durham, 99.9HD2 and stream at WRALSportsFan.com and on the WRALSportsFan.com app.
