Life 103.1 at Rocky Mount MillsLife 103.1 (WLQC-FM) will relocate its office headquarters and studio operations and broadcast 24/7 from the Mills. Life 103.1 will occupy 2,100 square feet of space in the Main Mill building currently being completely remodeled. Life 103.1 will join the Rocky Mount Telegram and Envolve Vision. Both announced their move to the Main Mill in the past 12 months.

“Life 103.1 has become a beloved eastern NC institution with thousands of listeners across the region,” says Matt Honeycutt, real estate development manager, Rocky Mount Mills/Capitol Broadcasting Company. “We’re thrilled to add a live radio station to our roster of tenants that now include healthcare, publishing, restaurants, and breweries!”

The Life 103.1 format is a unique blend of music and information. “Timeless Favorite” hits mixed with news, sports, and weather from the WRAL weather team form the core of its weekday programming. Its short-form lifestyle segments include “Life In Our Gardens,” featuring area Cooperative Extension agents. The station also airs bluegrass music Saturday mornings and evenings and faith-based inspirational music Sunday mornings

Station president Alan Button says, “We share CBC’s value priorities for quality and service, and we’re excited to be participating with CBC and our Mills neighbors in the renaissance of eastern North Carolina.  Consistent with our mission, our new state-of-the-art office and studio facilities will position us to serve our listeners and our advertisers at a whole new level.”

The station’s mission statement states that Life 103.1 is “dedicated to serving our community and its families and businesses, focusing on that which makes Life special in eastern North Carolina. And we are committed to filtering out the noise, dealing with matters important to our neighbors . . . and affirming all that is good about Life in eastern North Carolina.”

Life 103.1 will join the Rocky Mount Telegram, Nash County Travel & Tourism, and Envolve Vision as the first corporate tenants of the campus. Life 103.1 is expected to move into the Mills in October 2018.
