MIX 101.5 treated the Triangle to a wide array of the best food and drink from local restaurants on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. The 2nd Annual Savor the Triangle Food Festival took over the NC State Fairgrounds, with around 350 listeners noshing, all while raising a little over $10,000 for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
“You know the food was good when you see people holding their bellies and waddling vs walking when leaving,” said WRAL-FM Promotions Director Jason Newton. “The restaurants really brought their A game to the table and so did the MIX crew!”
MIX hosted over 20 local vendors at the event, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in Raleigh.
Listeners and MIX personalities, including WRAL-FM Asst Program Director/Music Director Jim Kelly, feasted on bites of everything from eggplant pie to BBQ to decadent desserts.
“I’m pretty sure Jim Kelly gained 10lbs in one night as he made it his mission to hit up every booth,” teased Newton.
While Kelly and the rest of the MIX 101.5 staff is recovering, Newton and WRAL-FM Promotions Coordinator Molly Donovan are already excited to start planning for the 2019 event.
