Latino Heritage Celebration, Three Fireworks Shows, Bark in the Park Headline Promotional Schedule
The Durham Bulls return to Durham Bulls Athletic Park for a six-game homestand from July 23 through July 28. Latino Heritage Weekend, Bark in the Park and three fireworks shows highlight the event schedule.
The homestand opens on Tuesday, July 23 at 7:05 p.m. against the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox. The contest, presented by WithersRavenel, will feature a Bourbon and Baseball event, as fans can purchase special tickets to a bourbon tasting event. Additionally, Tuesday’s game is a Lowes Foods 2-for-1 Tuesday, as all fans who present their Fresh Rewards card at the Mako Medical Ticket Office at the DBAP will receive two tickets for the price of one.
The DBAP will host its penultimate Bark in the Park of 2019 on Wednesday, July 24 at 7:05 p.m. presented by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. Fans can purchase a human ticket for $9 and bring their furry friend to the DBAP for $5. All proceeds from canine tickets will benefit Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
The Bulls and PawSox close their three-game set on Thursday, July 25 at 7:05 p.m. presented by Manning Fulton Attorneys. That evening will feature Afforda-BULL Eats value concessions, including $2 hot dogs, $3 pizza slices and select $5 beer. Additionally, the game will be followed by a special edition of Thursday night fireworks.
On Friday, July 26 the Bulls kick off a three-day Latino Heritage Weekend celebration at 7:05 p.m. against the Buffalo Bisons presented by Hillandale Golf Course. For the entire weekend the team will transform into Mal de Ojo de Durham, and Friday’s contest will feature dance performances by El Pueblo Salvadoreño Duo and local food truck The Heights Dominican. The evening will conclude with a Friday Night Fireworks show presented by bioMerieux.
Mal de Ojo de Durham and the Bisons battle once again at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 presented by Advance Auto Parts. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a mini Mal de Ojo flag, and local food truck Boricua Soul will be in attendance. Local dance group Ballet Folklorico will perform, as will local drum group Batala Durham. After the game will be a Saturday Night Fireworks show presented by Window World.
The homestand closes on Sunday, July 28 with the finale of Latino Heritage Weekend. The 5:05 p.m. game against the Toronto Blue Jays’ Triple-A team is presented by Emerge Pediatric Therapy, and before the game will feature a Kick on the Field with soccer balls from 4 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. The stadium will again welcome Boricua Soul, and Takiri Academy will perform dance routines throughout the evening. After the game, children get to show off their speed around the DBAP infield with Kids Run the Bases presented by Nature’s Twist.
Plus, Emerge Pediatric Therapy will be hosting a Sensory Friendly Night at the DBAP on Sunday. There will be a sensory guide and social story for the ballpark and a sensory “Cool Down” area in one of the executive suites. Sensory bags will also be available at the park for children and families.
