For the first time, HighSchoolOT provided live coverage of the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Games July 15-17, 2019.
The NCCA East-West All-Star Games were founded in 1949. The games feature players who graduated from high school this year. It puts some of the best athletes in the eastern half of the state up against their counterparts from the western half of the state.
Monday night featured all-star girls and boys basketball games at Greensboro Coliseum. On Tuesday, girls and boys soccer teams played at MacPherson Stadium. The football game was held at Grimsley High School’s Robert B. Jamison Stadium on Wednesday and also featured halftime fireworks and a performance by the N.C. Cheerleading Coaches Association’s All-Stars.
The HighSchoolOT team provided play-by-play and color commentary for all five games in addition to producing game stories, video highlights, interviews, and photos from all of the games. The games were all streamed live for free on HighSchoolOT.com, the HighSchoolOT app and the WRAL app for Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Watch now
HighSchoolOT also had a booth at the N.C. Coaches Clinic and met with coaches from across the state discussing plans to expand its coverage area to include the Triad and Charlotte markets. HighSchoolOT already covers the eastern half of the state. With the expanded area, HighSchoolOT now has a footprint in 77 or North Carolina’s 100 counties.
“Meeting high school coaches from across the state was a great opportunity for HighSchoolOT and helps us lay the groundwork for our expansion to the Triad and Charlotte markets,” said Nick Stevens, senior editor of HighSchoolOT.
HighSchoolOT kicks off the football season on August 17 with the HighSchoolOT Jamboree at Wake Forest High School, and HighSchoolOT Live presented by Hardee’s returns on August 23 starting at 7 PM.
