99.9 The Fan’s 2nd Annual Clubs and Suds Craft Beer Golf Tournament raised $3,334 for Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. 134 players on 31 teams played in the tourney on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh.
“It was another fantastic event for Sports Radio!” said 99.9 The Fan Event Sales Representative Megan Keenan. “It never ceases to amaze me how our listeners show up for us and are enthusiastic and engaged with who we are as a station. It was amazing to see the support that they gave to the benefitting charity, Make A Wish Eastern NC (a cause near and dear to my heart).”
Tavern on the Green at Eagle Ridge provided lunch and dinner for the event with presenting sponsor Vibrant Health.
“The event was so successful we had to turn players away!” said 99.9 The Fan Marketing Director Allie Shriver.
CBC Sports Radio’s benefit golf tournaments have become quite popular events.
“One of my favorite things to see are the repeat participants,” said Keenan. “We have listeners that show up to our summer tournament and then again have come to both of our Clubs & Suds Tournament as well. These guys (and ladies) literally wait for these to be promoted and get on board and buy their spots. Can’t wait for Club & Suds in 2020!”
SportsChannel 8 and Talk Hosts Adam Gold and Joe Ovies broadcasted live from the golf club. 99.9 The Fan Multi-media Journalist Lauren Brownlow kicked the day off welcoming the golfers, and The Sports Shop ended the day hosting the awards dinner.
“This was my first huge event and I was blown away by the support from not only our CBC radio family but the listeners,” said Shriver. “We could not have asked for more beautiful weather, better beer, or more enthusiastic crowd.”
