The Grammy award-winning Steep Canyon Rangers played a short concert at Schoolkids Records in Raleigh on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, and 95.7 FM That Station and Yep Roc Records got to team up for the fun.

“That Station and Yep Roc Records continue to make a great team!” said That Station Music Curator Sean McHugh.  “They celebrated the recent release of ‘North Carolina Songbook’ a live album from the Grammy award winning, NC based band Steep Canyon Rangers!  (Recorded at MerleFest 2019).”

He continued, “The party started Tuesday evening at 6pm on That Station when Arielle (afternoon curator) premiered the album by playing it back, track by track from start to finish! On Wednesday the party continued at Schoolkids records Raleigh with an ALL AGES, FREE live in store performance from Steep Canyon Rangers with lunch included!  That Station thanks Yep Roc Records, Come Hear NC, and Schoolkids for hosting the party!”

Schoolkids was filled to capacity with Steep Canyon Rangers fans.  The band stayed around to visit after playing their set of music, and then headed to Chapel Hill to perform the National Anthem for the UNC basketball game.  They finished their set with a cover of a Chapel Hill favorite, James Taylor’s “Sweet Baby James.”
