Rocky Mount Mills a Stop in “Our State” Train Guide

Rocky Mount Mills in Our StateRocky Mount Mills received a shout out in Our State Magazine’s latest online guide for travel in North Carolina.  In “The Our State Guide to NC By Train,” Rocky Mount Mills features as a major stop on the tour to the central part of the state.

In “NC By Train: Third Stop, Rocky Mount,” writer Alice Manning Touchette, introduces the series and the town featured in April:

In this series, we’ll share ideas to get you excited about jumping on a train to explore the state! Find out where to go, what to do, and what to eat in downtowns across North Carolina — all within walking distance of the train station. This month, we’re heading to Rocky Mount.

The tour of Rocky Mount begins at the Imperial Center, a 15-minute walk north of the town’s Helen P. Gay Train Station, and then moves on to the Mills:

From the Imperial Centre, Rocky Mount Mills is about a mile up Falls Road. Here, wood-fired pizza, outdoor games, breweries, and water views create a relaxed vibe. Formerly a cotton mill, the 82-acre campus set back along the falls of the Tar River is now a hopping community that draws locals and Rocky Mount visitors.

The piece focuses on the many great features of Rocky Mount Mills, including restaurants, breweries and the book and coffee shop, before continuing the tour back towards the train station.
