A total of 86 golfers took part in the 7th Annual CBC Sports Radio Open on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the Riverwood Golf Club in Clayton. The event raised $3,000 for the Helene Foundation, a non-profit that provides immediate support for mothers fighting cancer to positively impact their families.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather for the 7th Annual Sports Radio Open, presented by The Jim Allen Group!” said WRAL-FM Promotion Director Shelby Lloyd.
The golfers began the day with breakfast sponsored by Dunkin’ and ended the tournament with a lunch sponsored by Primal Cuts.
Joe Giglio & Jonathan Rand from The OG got out and golfed during the event with the teams.
“This year’s Sports Radio Open was fantastic!” said 99.9 The Fan Producer/Board Operator Jonathan Rand. “From the course to the participants, to the overall atmosphere, the event is always one of my favorites and always delivers.”
From the perfect weather to the fun atmosphere, the CBC Sports Radio Open continues to get nothing but better each year.
“We are grateful to our radio sports team, clients, partners, and participants for helping to make this year’s tournament yet another big success as we continue building on this community event for a good cause,” said WRAL-FM Brand/Content Manager Sammy Simpson.
