Capitol Broadcasting once again proudly supported PBS North Carolina in their spring fundraiser, helping bring in over $34,000 during the CBC/WRAL Night at PBS NC on Thursday, March 7, 2022.

“The Corporate Engagement Team here at PBS NC is beyond excited to report that Capitol Broadcasting/WRAL’s generous match helped us raise $24,688 in phone and online contributions last night! When the generous gift of $10,000 from Capitol Broadcasting/WRAL is included, the grand total for the night is $34,688!” said PBS NC Corporate Engagement Coordinator Jessica Anderson.  “We are so grateful for the generosity and support that Capitol Broadcasting/WRAL provided on the Corporate Match Night during our Grow Together campaign!”

WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Lena Tillett presented CBC’s $10,000 check virtually during the evening’s programming.  She also shared some thoughts of her own, in appreciation of public television.

“The biggest similarity between Capitol Broadcasting Company or WRAL and PBS North Carolina is that we’re both curious,” she said during her remarks for on-air.  “We’re not driving the news here, we’re covering it with curiosity and openness and thoughtfulness and empathy.  PBS North Carolina shares cultures and experiences that so many might not be exposed to based on their background and education, and I think by sharing those stories we become a more enlightened community and a more open community as well.”

PBS North Carolina staff also extended thanks to Tillett for her heartfelt comments for the evening’s fundraising segments.
