US Senate Debate

WRAL News will host a debate between former governor Pat McCrory and former congressman Mark Walker, two of the three front runners in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, this Thursday night, April 14, 2022. WRAL also invited Congressman Ted Budd, but he did not accept the invitation.

WRAL’s latest story on the primary race for the Republicans:

WRAL-TV Anchor Lena Tillet will moderate the debate which WRAL will offer via livestream and satellite uplink to media outlets across the state.

“WRAL has a long history of producing successful and highly-viewed forums,” said WRAL-TV Director New Operations, Sports & Special Projects Leesa Moore.  “We utilize a more free-flowing structure that allows candidates to truly discuss the issues most important to North Carolina voters.  We view offering our debates to other media outlets as a public service.”

The half-hour debate will air live at 7PM Thursday on WRAL-TV and WILM-TV, and stream on and the WRAL News app.

Thanks to WRAL-TV’s Leesa Moore for this Capcom scoop & graphic.
