Durham Magazine has released the 2022 Best of Durham winners, and American Tobacco tenants are shining bright. The publication called ATC “the gold standard” in places to go, honoring multiple restaurants alongside a spa, catering and performance venue.
Matthew Lardie penned a feature, “Tour de Force,” highlighting the many ATC entities honored as the Best of Durham.
“Take a look at a postcard of Durham, and you’re likely to find a few iconic sights – Duke Chapel, the Old Bull tobacco sign and, very likely, the Lucky Strike Water Tower at American Tobacco Campus,” he began. “The development is an integral part of the Bull City and a destination for thousands of visitors each year.”
Beyond spotlighting the Best of Durham winners on the campus, the article also focuses on how the ATC team helped restaurants cope during the pandemic, it’s appeal for new tenants, and how the focus is expanding beyond being a destination for the workday into being a hot spot on evenings and weekends.
“ATC was the heart and start of Durham’s renaissance,” said ATC Durham Real Estate Director Adam Klein of the Best of Durham feature. “But over the past few years, as Durham and the region’s grown, we’ve recognized we’re in a more competitive environment. The pandemic gave us a chance to rethink our strategy by attracting some of the best chefs and restaurant operators to compliment the already thriving restaurants here. This article recognizes the work our entire team put in over the past two years—from leasing to property management to events and accounting—everyone has had a hand in making ATC ‘The Gold Standard’…and we intend to only get better.”
