“The Coastal Plain League is kind of what minor league baseball used to be.  You can have a lot more impact, not only in the communities but you know with the players.”
– DBBC’s Mike Birling

DBBC’s Mike Birling talks to WRAL-TV’s Chris Lea about CBC’s acquisition of the Coastal Plain League.

WRAL-TV Sports Anchor/Reporter Chris Lea recently talked to Durham Bulls Vice President of Baseball Operations Mike Birling for his thoughts on CBC’s acquisition of the Coastal Plain League and why it is so important.

“It’s pretty exciting,” Birling told Lea.  “We purchased the Holly Springs Salamanders who are members of the Coastal Plain League going into the 2018 season, and it’s just been a lot of fun. It’s so different than minor league baseball and I think it’s just from the Goodmons’ standpoint, it’s the way baseball is so intertwined in communities is just so important.”
