Tune in to WRAL-TV on Christmas Day for a special noon broadcast

Golden Years Holiday Celebration
The 65th Annual Golden Years Holiday Celebration, a partnership between Capitol Broadcasting and the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, returned to the in-person event for the first time since the pandemic on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Raleigh Convention Center.

A great partnership between Capitol Broadcasting Company and the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department returned after the pandemic interruption!  The 65th Annual Golden Years Holiday Celebration revived the in-person event on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown.  Motown Revue headlined the breakfast event. WRAL-TV Anchors Brian Shrader, Renee Chou and Ken Smith emceed and had a wonderful morning at the holiday celebration for the members of City of Raleigh’s Golden Years Clubs.

“We had such a great time today at the Golden Years celebration — our first since 2019!” said WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Brian Shrader, who helped emcee the program. “We got together with about 500 seasoned Raleigh citizens to celebrate the holidays. This has been a Capitol Broadcasting Company tradition since 1957! If you missed it, I have good news: You can join WRAL-TV’s Renee Chou, Ken Smith and me for the special broadcast, Christmas Day at noon on WRAL TV! Great job, as always, to Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department for making this wonderful event happen!”

Chou also enjoyed being part of the fun.

“One of my *fav* holiday traditions!” said WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Renee Chou.  “Had a blast at the 65th Golden Years celebration presented by Capitol Broadcasting & Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. Around 500 seniors were treated to brunch, amazing holiday entertainment & raffle prizes. So fun emceeing with WRAL-TV’s Brian Shrader and Ken Smith. There may even be video of us dancing! This event made my heart happy!”
