This collaborative regional fundraising initiative will be broadcast on WRAL-TV and streamed live on WRAL.com, Thursday March 9th from 7pm-8pm.
This year’s feature artists with ties to the Triangle region include Tony Award-winning performer Beth Leavel, singer-songwriters Larry & Joe, the 2023 Piedmont Laureate Dasan Ahanu, superstar dance duo Cost ‘n Mayor, iconic Stickworks sculptor Patrick Dougherty, Americana and bluegrass duo Chatham Rabbits and a LIVE performance by Grammy-nominated country singer songwriter Rissi Palmer.
“This is an incredibly important event for the arts in our region,” said WRAL-TV and FOX 50 (WRAZ) General Manager Joel Davis. “It is an incredible opportunity for us to come together and support the arts in our communities.”
Over the last two years, Big Night In for the Arts has not only showcased area artists and arts organizations, the event has raised more than $615,000 for local arts programs.
“We are thrilled to be part of this event for the third year in a row,” said Heather Gray, Station Manager of WRAL-TV, FOX50, & WILM. “It is a great way for us to show our commitment to the performing arts and to provide much needed funds for our local arts councils.”
About Bight Night In for the Arts:
Big Night In for the Arts was born of the COVID-19 pandemic as a collaborative effort between WRAL and the four county arts councils of the Triangle. Recognizing the immense impact the pandemic had on the arts industry, Big Night In allowed the arts of the entire Triangle to be showcased and uplifted by WRAL, one of the largest media platforms in our region. While the arts industry is recovering post-pandemic, Big Night In continues to serve as an annual opportunity to tell the story of the arts, showcase their impact, and raise money for arts programming throughout the region.
Join WRAL on March 9 at 7pm on WRAL-TV, WRAL.com or wherever you stream WRAL and show your support of the arts! For more information visit WRAL.com or BigNightIn.org.
