Tune in to PBS NC tonight, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, to see WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Lena Tillett. No, that’s not a station misprint. Tillett will appear in segments on North Carolina’s public television station, for CBC/WRAL night on PBS NC, marking our 22nd year as a PBS NC Corporate Partner during the spring fundraiser.
“Lena Tillett has graced us again with recording a fabulous brand new video for PBS NC’s Grow Together on-air fundraising programming,” PBS NC Director of Corporate Underwriting Norma Hall told CapCom.
The primetime programming highlight of the evening will be “Ken Burns: The Civil War,” the 25th anniversary edition of the landmark series. Created in September 2015, the anniversary production of the documentary includes an in-depth overview of the iconic documentary including video clips and interviews with Ken Burns, Geoffrey Ward, Ric Burns, Buddy Squires and others. The program begins at 8pm.
“Freedom Songs: The Music of the Civil Rights Movement” follows at 10pm. “From Billie Holiday to Mahalia Jackson and Aretha Franklin, and from Curtis Mayfield and Sly Stone to Gil Scott-Heron, Freedom Songs documents how a few daring musical innovators stood at the vortex of two revolutions-one cultural, the other musical-and forever changed America and the world.”
A wide array of shows fill out the afternoon and evening from 2pm to midnight, like “This Old House,” and “My Home, NC” ending with “Amanpour and Company” at 11pm. Find the full schedule for the afternoon and evening HERE.
