RALEIGH, N.C. – Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) and Hurricanes Holdings announced Thursday they have extended their partnership to broadcast exciting Carolina Hurricanes hockey action to fans throughout the Carolinas through radio and audio channels.
Under the multi-year extension, CBC will continue its long tradition of bringing Hurricanes games to the airwaves. All pre-season, regular season and post-season games will be broadcast live on the team’s flagship radio station, 99.9 The Fan (WCMC-FM), featuring award-winning announcers Mike Maniscalco and Tripp Tracy on the call. 99.9 The Fan will also produce the popular “Storm Watch” pre-game show and “Aftermath” post-game show around the main game presentation.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with 99.9 The Fan so our fans can continue to hear Mike and Tripp call our games on the radio,” said Mike Sundheim, Carolina Hurricanes Vice President of Communications, “From local talk shows to podcasts and pre- and post-game coverage, 99.9 The Fan remains a trusted outlet for Hurricanes fans looking to hear news, analysis and discussion beyond the games.”
CBC will continue creating its popular in-depth podcast on the team following every game, “Canes Corner”, led by Fan host and team insider Adam Gold. Exclusive interviews and additional daily Canes content will have a dependable year-round home on 99.9 The Fan’s local sports-talk programs, “The Adam Gold Show”, “The Drive with Tim Donnelly”, and “Next Up with Paul Ihander”, as well as on the station’s many social media channels.
