Free Lunch and a Game of Catch at Fanfest 2009
 |
Fans can get revved up for the upcoming Bulls season at Fanfest 2009 on March 6th. |
The Durham Bulls recently announced Fanfest 2009, the annual “Opening Day” for individual ticket sales, will be held on Friday, March 6th from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Once again anyone who purchases at least one ticket to a 2009 regular season game will get a free lunch of ballpark favorites at the concession stands. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, and soda will all be available in the food court.
New to Fanfest this season is the “Field of Dreams” Experience, allowing fans to come down to the field to play a game of catch in the outfield or take a few swings in the batters box. Bats will be provided, but fans are encouraged to bring their gloves to have a catch.
“This is a pretty good way to spend your Friday lunch hour,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “Get a ticket to a ballgame, have lunch on us and play on the field where many of your favorite players have played.”
Other events scheduled for the 2009 Fanfest include:
- Wool E. Bull and Blue Monster posing for pictures and signing autographs.

- Up to 20% off selected Bulls Merchandise in the Ballpark Corner Store.

- Select-a-Seat event highlighting available season ticket and mini-plan seat locations.

- Create a video message to run on the giant video board in left field on Opening Night.

The Bulls open the 2009 season on Thursday, April 9th with a 7:05pm game against the Norfolk Tides. For questions, please call 956-BULL (2855).
