WRAL Allows Candidates for Senator & Governor in NC to Address Issues WRAL Candidates & Issues Forum – General Election 2008

As part of an ongoing commitment to improve the political process by creating a more informed electorate, Capitol Broadcasting Company will provide time for the Senate & Gubernatorial candidates prior to the 2008 general election.
WRAL and CBC believe that issues are at the heart of the political process, so we’ve asked candidates to let you know where they stand on some of the most important issues facing our state.
Senate candidates Kay Hagan (D) and Elizabeth Dole (R) were asked to address:
- The economy
- Immigration
- Terrorism
- And their top three priorities if elected
NC Gubernatorial candidates Bev Purdue (D) and Pat McCrory (R) were asked to weigh in on:
- The economy
- Education
- The criminal justice system in NC
- And their top three priorities if elected
The messages will air during the WRAL daily newscasts at 6am on WRAL, 7am on FOX 50, WRAL’s Noon News, on WRAL at 6pm, at 10pm on FOX 50, and at 11pm on WRAL
The Candidates & Issues spots began with the 6am newscast on Friday, October 3rd, and will run through Tuesday, October 28th in the Noon News. The messages will also air on WJZY-TV in Charlotte, a CBC station.
