MIX Listeners Reach Out to Help Hungry Kids

On Friday, August 29, 2008, MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM held a food drive for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies program.
Hundreds of people showed their support by dropping off items for the drive or making a monetary donation on-line. MIX 101.5 collected 7,116 pounds of food and almost $6,000 in monetary donations.
MIX 101.5 broadcasted live on-location in Cary’s Crossroads Plaza from 6 am to 6 pm Bill Jordan and Sheri Logan of Bill & Sheri in the Morning kicked off the event to encourage morning commuters to make a donation before heading out of town for Labor Day weekend.

The BackPack Buddies program provides school children who are on free or reduced lunch with six healthy meals and two healthy snacks for the weekend while they are away from school.
