Durham Bulls Pitcher Jeremy Cummings won bronze in Beijing on Team USA. |
Durham Bulls/Team USA Pitcher Jeremy Cummings helped the Bulls get their last few games of the 2008 season off to a good start. He threw out the first pitch of the Bulls game on Monday, August 25th, in honor of the Bronze-Medal-winning Team USA.
Cummings just returned to Durham from Beijing, where he was a part of the team that brought home hardware from the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. He made two appearances for Team USA, allowing one run on three hits in five innings of work.
The Bulls have more to celebrate than Cummings’ bronze. They are close to clinching the International League’s South division title. With the Bulls commanding lead, the league has allowed the Bulls to begin selling tickets for the 2008 Governors’ Cup Playoffs.
