Goodmons To Join Raleigh Hall of Fame

CBC President & CEO Jim Goodmon and his wife, A.J. Fletcher Foundation President, Barbara Goodmon have been selected for induction into the prestigious Raleigh Hall of Fame.
The Goodmons selected along with 12 other inductees from among 44 nominations. Honorees were chosen along the basis of their contributions to the city of Raleigh, effectiveness, leadership and length of service.
Parker Call, chair of the Raleigh Hall of Fame selection process, announced the inductee list on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Raleigh City Council Meeting.
The Goodmons were chosen for “their commitment to Raleigh through visionary leadership and philanthropy, particularly in the areas of human service, cultural amenities, and the broadcasting business.”
Thirteen individuals and one organization were selected for induction in 2008. The Goodmons will be inducted alongside Dick Bell, John Caldwell, Elizabeth Cofield, Julia & Frank Daniels, Alice & Thad Eure, Jr., Margie Haywood, Casper Holroyd, Ann H. Smith, Wesley Williams, and The Raleigh Garden Club.
The ceremony will take place on Sept. 9th in Raleigh’s new convention center.
