Tift Merritt stops by the WRAL-TV studios to sing “Broken” from her latest CD. |
Triangle singer/songwriter Tift Merritt stopped by the WRAL-TV studios on Monday, March 10, 2008, to sing a cut from her recently released CD. “Another Country” is Merritt’s third album, and she’s currently on tour promoting it.
Merritt wrote “Another Country” while on what was supposed to be a short vacation in Paris. She rented a flat with a piano. When inspiration hit, she remained in the city, writing feverishly. The result: an album that is already garnering critical acclaim.

“It’s great to see you again,” said Leslie of the singer who always stops by Capitol Broadcasting when in her home town. Merritt also joined WRAL-TV for the station’s annual Pops in the Park last Labor Day weekend.
