FOX 50 and American Red Cross Team Up To Launch What Color Do YOU Bleed?
|
FOX 50 is teaming up with the American Red Cross to launch a new and unique community service initiative called What Color Do YOU Bleed?
Created by FOX 50, What Color Do YOU Bleed? taps into the highly competitive nature of collegiate fans while supporting the American Red Cross. The initial campaign will revolve around local North Carolina universities; Duke University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
“We’re very excited to launch this major campaign,” said Tommy Schenck, Vice President and General Manager of FOX 50. “It’s exciting to create a campaign that’s unique, fun and at the same time so beneficial in helping the American Red Cross help others.”
The main element of the campaign is T-shirts, unique to each university, printed with the question “What Color Do YOU Bleed?” and the response “I Bleed…” either Duke Blue, Eagle Maroon, Wolfpack Red or Tarheel Blue. To launch the campaign, FOX 50 will purchase 200 T-shirts divided evenly between the 4 universities represented. Fans may purchase the T-shirts online at www.whatcolordoyoubleed.com and at various American Red Cross events. All profits, after taxes, go to the American Red Cross.
“Families and communities depend on the American Red Cross in times of need; the Red Cross depends on the support of the community to help us to have funds to provide programs and service,” said Barry Porter, Regional Director for the American Red Cross. “We are very grateful the Universities have signed on to this exciting promotion with FOX 50. The sale of the shirts and a little friendly competition will help us raise funds to meet the growing needs in our communities.”
This initiative will be promoted through all FOX 50 outlets and at various events with the objective of raising donations and awareness for the American Red Cross. Competition will fuel the initiative but the overall message is that by working together can make a difference in our community.
