WILM – WWAY Partner on 7 pm Newscast
|
Local television news viewers will get a convenient new option beginning March 10, 2008, when CBS-10/WILM-TV unveils the Wilmington market’s first 7pm newscast.
“The 7 PM News on CBS-10 WILM” will be a live, local newscast airing every weeknight on the market’s CBS station. The newscast will be produced by WWAY NewsChannel 3 as part of a new partnership between the stations.
“We here at CBS 10 WILM are just thrilled to be teaming up with the fine people at WWAY to not only bring a local newscast to viewers, but to air it live at 7pm — a time that is convenient for everyone,” said WILM Station Manager Constance Knox.
The half-hour newscast will provide a comprehensive report of local news and weather, featuring WWAY News Anchors Steve Rondinaro and Ann McAdams, plus Chief Meteorologist Chris Phillips.
WWAY News Director Paul Paolicelli says “I’m very much looking forward to our partnership with WILM-TV as we will jointly offer the growing Wilmington market an additional news broadcast in a significant time period.”
According to Knox, the 7 p.m. newscast offers viewers a timely, convenient way to catch up with the news of the day: “Often people are busy with work, dinner and the kids, so many might miss the local news at 6pm. We’re excited to be offering live local news one hour later at 7pm.”
