CBS 10 WILM is partnering with Communities in Schools for the second consecutive year to collect school supplies for students who need them.
School Stuff began on August 1, when collection barrels appeared in participating RBC Centura, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty, Sam’s Club and Martin Self-Storage locations in Pender and New Hanover counties.
Through August 31, WILM and Communities in Schools are asking the public to donate new school supplies including binders, notebooks, pens, pencils, paper and folders to help prepare a child for the school year.
“Many students in our community don’t have the means to buy the school supplies they need. In many cases, teachers end up buying these supplies. With the School Stuff campaign, we hope to relieve teachers of this burden and give students the tools they need to be successful in the classroom,” said Louise Hicks, Executive Director of Communities in Schools of Cape Fear.
Anyone interested in receiving school supplies should contact Communities in Schools of Cape Fear at (910) 343-1901.
WILM and Communities in Schools of Cape Fear thank community partners RBC Centura, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty, Sam’s Club and Martin Self-Storage for their support of this project.
