WRAL To Bring Stanley Cup Celebration Live to Viewers |

Seven was the lucky number for the Carolina Hurricanes, and WRAL-TV is going to help them celebrate. The Canes clinched the NHL’s coveted Stanley Cup last night, Monday, June 19, 2006, in Game 7.
WRAL will be right in the middle of the big celebration in Raleigh tonight and will bring the festivities live to viewers beginning at 6:30pm. You can also catch the fun online at WRAL.com.
A parade will be held today, Tuesday, June 20th, in honor of the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. The RBC Center parking lots will open at 4pm, and the celebration will begin at 5pm with the band Fantasy. Parking and the event are free for all fans.

The first 18,000 fans at the Stanley Cup celebration will receive a commemorative pint glass courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and the first 20,000 fans will receive a champion card courtesy of Progress Energy. Distribution of these commemorative items will take place outside of the RBC Center’s west entrance.
The Stanley Cup parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Wendell Murphy Football Center at Carter-Finley Stadium and will follow the roads around the RBC Center to the east VIP lots. Parade participants will distribute 5,000 foam pucks courtesy of John Deere to lucky fans along the parade route.
The on-stage portion of the celebration will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m. and will feature video presentations and special guest speakers. Fantasy will return to the stage for 30-45 minutes following the on-stage celebration.
