Soap hopefuls came out to American Tobacco to audition for a shot at a walk-on part on May 26th. |
On Friday, May 26, 2006, Soap Star wannabe’s showed up at the American Tobacco Campus as early as 6:30am for a one-day daytime drama casting party. Over 175 fans got a chance to meet and perform with daytime drama actors as they competed for a trip to Los Angeles in hopes of winning a walk-on role on ABC’s long-running daytime soap, General Hospital.
While waiting to compete, contestants and attendees sampled free sponsor products, played games and received “soap star” makeovers and head shots. Judges for the event included WTVD’s News Anchors Barbara Gibbs and John Clark and Meteorologist Chris Hohmann. Miss North Carolina Brooke McLaurin and All My Children’s Alec Musser (Del Henry). They not only judged but were also available to sign autographs.

Even the MIX 101.5 crew, Jami Elizondo, Eliza Bass and Kyle Kusterer, got into the act by providing a live remote broadcast complete with games and prizes.
