Fourth Contestant Moves on to Gimme the Mike Finals

Now over half of the contestants for the finale of FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike have been determined. In the fourth installment of the show, which aired its second installment on Wednesday, May 10th, a fourth lucky singer won a spot in the finale. Tamieka Lee captured the votes of the judges and will move on to compete as a finalist for the Gimme the Mike title.
A native of Washington, DC, Tamieka has lived a variety of places with her military family. Her parents retired to Fayetteville, where she now lives with her two daughters. Lee is in her first year at Liberty University where she is working towards her applied arts associates degree in general studies. She has performed onstage at the Apollo in New York City and hope to own her own restaurant or club.
One of the other three contestants from the evening will get a second chance. After the show viewers could log on to the FOX 50 website and vote for their choice for a Wild Card to compete for a fifth spot in the finals on the Ultimate Wild Card show.

FOX 50 also announced the third Wild Card contestant during the show. Donnie Strain of Franklinton lost out to LaDaria Richardson for the judges pick during Show 3 but won the applause of the viewing audience. Fans voted online to send Strain to the Wild Card show for a shot at being the Ultimate Wild Card and a second-chance slot in the finale.
Strain is a junior at Franklinton High School and plays in his own band. He enjoys U.S. History and P.E. and loves to play baseball. He is the vice president of his school drama club.

What are they singing for?
This year’s grand prize includes a demo from Osceola Recording Studios, a performance on the side stage at Alltel Pavilion, the opportunity to open for a national act at the Longbranch Entertainment Complex, consultation with management firm Murphy to Manteo, and four tickets on Southwest Airlines anywhere they fly.

The Wild Card winner from Show 4 will be announced during FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike next week, Wednesday, May 17th. Be sure to tune in at 7:30pm to watch the last four contestants go head-to-head for a shot at stardom.
The four judge’s picks and the Ultimate Wild Card winner will compete for the Gimme the Mike title in the live one-hour finale on Wednesday, May 24th at 7pm on FOX 50.
