Third Contestant Advances to Gimme the Mike Finals

Viewers tuned in for the third episode of FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike aired on Wednesday, May 3rd, as a third singer won the judges vote for a spot in the finale with her rendition of Sheryl Crow’s “The First Cut Is The Deepest.” LaDaria Richardson now moves on to compete as a finalist for the Gimme the Mike title.
A Charlotte native, Richardson now resides in Raleigh. The 29-year-old owns her own business, is married and has two children. Richardson is the reigning Mrs. Raleigh, N.C. United States.
One of the other three contestants from the evening will get a second chance. After the show viewers could log on to the FOX 50 website and vote for their choice for a Wild Card to compete for a fifth spot in the finals on the Ultimate Wild Card show.

FOX 50 also announced the second Wild Card contestant during the show. Sarah Lewis of Newton Grove lost out to LeAnn Boone for the judges pick during Show 2 but won the applause of the viewing audience. Fans voted online to send 16-year-old Lewis to the Wild Card show for a shot at being the Ultimate Wild Card and a second-chance slot in the finale.
Lewis attends Hobbton High School, where she is a junior. She is an avid horseback rider and would love to train horses for a living, and sing, of course. She lives in Newton Grove with her parents and two brothers.

What are they singing for?
This year’s grand prize includes a demo from Osceola Recording Studios, a performance on the side stage at Alltel Pavilion, the opportunity to open for a national act at the Longbranch Entertainment Complex, consultation with management firm Murphy to Manteo, and four tickets on Southwest Airlines anywhere they fly.

The Wild Card winner from Show 3 will be announced during FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike next week, Wednesday, May 10th. Be sure to tune in at 7:30pm to watch the next four contestants go head to head for a shot at stardom.
The four judge’s picks and the Ultimate Wild Card winner will compete for the Gimme the Mike title in the live one-hour finale on Wednesday, May 24th at 7pm on FOX 50.
