WRAL-TV Selected as Raleigh Christmas Parade Media Partner for 2005-2007 Events
|
WRAL-TV will be the title sponsor for the Raleigh Christmas Parade for the next three years. |
WRAL-TV has been selected as the 2005-2007 Raleigh Christmas Parade Official Media Partner by the Greater Raleigh Merchant’s Association [GRMA]. WRAL-TV will also become the 2005-2007 Title Sponsor, headlining the new “WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade Presented by the Greater Raleigh Merchant’s Association”.
The annual event is the largest parade between Atlanta and New York. The excitement begins again on Saturday, November 19th as the 62 nd Annual Raleigh Christmas Parade winds its way through downtown Raleigh, NC to the delight of thousands of spectators.
For the 32nd time, the event will be produced and aired by WRAL-TV. New this year, the event will also be simulcast on WRAL.com, FOX50 Digital, MIX 101.5 and affiliated radio stations across the state. For the 6th consecutive year, WRAL will produce and present the Parade in High Definition—-television’s most advanced format. The station will also replay the Parade broadcast three times, including a special holiday presentation on Christmas Day.
WRAL-TV has supported the communities it serves in many ways, only one of which is the airing and production of the annual Christmas Parade. WRAL-TV Director of Programming John Harris says “We’re delighted to once again televise the fun and excitement of The Raleigh Christmas Parade to thousands of viewers at home. WRAL-TV is proud to partner with the GRMA to produce and broadcast what has become a North Carolina holiday tradition.”
This year the relationship has been extended and formalized with a three year contract which guarantees WRAL-TV the Title Sponsorship position and insures that participants, spectators, and sponsors experience the biggest and best event thus far.
“The GRMA could not be more pleased to continue its long standing relationship with Capitol Broadcasting and WRAL-TV” shared John Odom the GRMA’s executive Director.
Jeff Snell, who also serves as the GRMA parade committee chairman added “All of the GRMA Board members were impressed by Capitol Broadcasting’s comprehensive marketing capabilities. The parade will be broadcast on one analog channel, one digital channel and one HD channel as well as local and state-wide radio outlets. Activities leading up to the event will be promoted on CBC properties and in print media as well. For those unable to attend or experience the parade on television or radio, the entire parade will be available worldwide via online streaming video. It’s important that we not forget our men and women serving abroad to protect and extend the freedoms for others that we enjoy here at home every day – experiencing your hometown Christmas Parade is a perfect example”.
In addition to doubling the number of cameras including the Sky 5 Helicopter, this year’s event will also include personalities from MIX 101.5, a two and a half hour broadcast, new floats, a popular Grand Marshall, dozens of bands, float participants and a special surprise at the end of the route. A parade festival has been added to the day’s events for everyone to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of the season after the Parade ends.
The fun gets under-way at 9:30am along the new Parade Route, which was changed this year to accommodate construction of the downtown convention center. Be sure to be on hand or tuned in to WRAL-TV, FOX 50 Digital, MIX 101.5 or WRAL.com to experience this memorable and enjoyable event.
