On last week’s premiere episode, Daniel D. Johnson of Goldsboro became the first finalist chosen by the judges of this season’s Verizon SuperPages Presents FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike! to advance to the live one-hour finale. Johnson is a Paraprofessional who helps patients rehabilitate from head and brain injuries.

An online audience vote named Lauren Wenick of Raleigh this season’s first Wild Card pick. Wenick advances to the live FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike! Wild Card Playoff Show where she’ll have an additional chance to showcase her singing abilities for an online Wild Card vote. She’s currently a student at Wakefield High School who’d like to major in musical theater.
This Thursday night will feature the singing talent of Clayton Lee from Fayetteville, Erin Gilbert from Raleigh, Meghann Flores from Dudley, and Tom Wedsworhty, Jr. from Chapel Hill.

Viewers will vote one Wild Card contestant from each episode of Gimme the Mike! to appear in this season’s live Wild Card Playoff Show, where the weekly Wild Card winners will have an extra chance to sing for a live audience. One Wild Card contestant will advance to the season finale and compete for the grand prize. |
A new episode of FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike! airs each Thursday night at 7:30 on FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV). Each week features the performances of four new talented singers from all over North Carolina. If you’d like another chance to see the past week’s winning performances, tune in for a special encore presentation of Verizon SuperPages Presents FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike! Monday nights at 10:35pm, following WRAL’s 10pm News on FOX 50.
Verizon SuperPages Presents FOX 50’s Gimme the Mike! will culminate in a one-hour live finale in May where one finalist will be awarded the grand prize. The season finale event will also feature live performances from some special musical guests and will be broadcast live from downtown Raleigh leading into May’s biggest television music event: the finale of American Idol.
