Capitol Broadcasting Company Recognized for Building Projects
Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) received recognition for two of its building projects during the Triangle Business Journal‘s “Edge Awards” dinner on Thursday, October 7, 2004.
In the first ever Triangle Business Journal “Edge Awards”, CBC shared an “Environmental Sensitivity Award” with Architektur, an architectural firm, for the design and function of the Digital Television Towers and Transmitter building in Auburn, NC. The tower was recognized for co-locating six antennae on one structure and preventing further land use by requiring multiple tower sites. The design utilizes steel bars for protection from falling ice while also serving as the backbone of the building.
The firms of McDonald-York and Crowe Fowler also received “The Partnering Team Approach Award” for the design and upfitting of GlaxoSmithKline’s leased space in the American Tobacco complex. CBC was named as one of the entities involved in the project.
