MIX Personalities Bill Jordan (l to r), Diane Ramsey, Vanna Fox & Sheri Logan are all pitching in on the air for the kids at Duke. |
WRAL-FM/MIX 101.5 began its annual Radiothon for the kids at Duke Children’s Hospital on Thursday, September 9, 2004 and will run the event through the weekend. MIX Morning Hosts Bill Jordan & Sheri Logan kicked off the 11th annual fundraising event live from Duke.
MIX is offering several ways to give during the 2004 Radiothon. Listeners can pledge online or via phone – toll free at 1-866-684-1015, or locally at (919) 684 – 1015. Volunteers are answering phones and taking pledges around the clock. The phone bank opened at 6am on the 9th and will close at 6pm on Sept 12th.
WRAL-FM listeners can also get in on the Tell a Friend contest…make a pledge, get your friends to do the same, and win a trip for 4 to anywhere American Airlines flies (continental US) plus $1,000 cash!
Or, bid on several celebrity-autographed auction items, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Duke Children’s Hospital. Click here for the charity auction.
Sister station WRAL-TV helped MIX get the Radiothon off to a good start by broadcasting half-hour programs at 12:30pm, 7:30pm and 11:35pm on the first day of the event. The programs featured patients and their families, volunteers who support on-going programs and the doctors who provide treatment and conduct research at Duke.
Over the past 10 years, MIX 101.5 has raised over 5 million dollars for the kids at Duke Children’s Hospital.
