WRAL’s “Brain Game” Champions Honored at Season End |
The latest season of WRAL-TV’s own teen game show “Brain Game” came to an end with a celebration banquet in the studio on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 5:30pm. Spring semester champion, Chapel Hill High School, received recognition for their victory. The school will receive an IBM ThinkPad computer and the team members received championship jackets.
Raleigh Charter High School won the fall semester. Each championship team came out on top of a field of 42, working their way through first rounds, semi-finals and the final rounds. Chapel Hill High team members include Andrew Zonderman, Will Schultz, Meredith Newmark. School principal is Dr. Tom Humble and the coaches for the team are Eric Grunden & Betsy Newmark. Raleigh Charter High team members include Jonathan Hill, Chris Bukowski, Stephen Frimmel. School principal is Dr. Mary Hardebeck, and the coach for the team is Ken Stewart.
Brain Game appears on WRAL-TV Saturdays at 7:30pm during the school year. Teams from schools in the viewing area compete for the title, answering questions about current events and school subjects. WRAL-TV Trafficologist Mark Roberts hosts and Kevin Shand produces.
The 2002-2003 season brought an updated “Brain Game” to Triangle viewers, complete with a new host, a new set and a new format.
