Childcare Center Announces Spring Fundraising Yard Sale
Sale Item Donations Now Being Accepted
The daycare facility will be state-of-the-art and will have a 5-star rating. |
Method Drive Child Development Center is preparing for its largest annual fundraiser, a yard sale run by the Method Parent Group. The Center is currently accepting items for the sale, which will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2003 from 8:00am to noon. The Center is currently located in Pullen Memorial Baptist Church on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, which will be the site of the sale.
The Center will be accepting donations for the sale all month, but as storage space is limited, please hold large items until the week of April 21. Children’s toys and books, clothing, household items, electronics, sporting equipment, furniture, books and videos are all great yard sale items. Children’s clothing needs to be sorted by gender and size. Also, please have adult clothing on hangers (dry cleaners will give away hangers).
In February Capitol Broadcasting Company announced a new partnership with the Method Road Child Development Center. The two, in conjunction with the Catholic Diocese, will soon begin construction on a state-of-the-art facility for the Center adjacent to the WRAL-TV campus in Raleigh. This will be third home for the Center since its inception in 1969 and management hopes the larger facility will help the Center earn a 5 star daycare rating.
Construction is slated to open in January 2004. Through an agreement for the contributions of CBC, its employees will receive priority admission for their children, but all members of the community will be eligible to enroll.
The Center is currently running a fundraising campaign to raise $1.5M for construction. The drive raised $235,000 in its quiet phase last year, most of it from Capitol Broadcasting Co. Inc. and Pullen Memorial Baptist.
