WRAL-TV’s Amanda Lamb Recognized For Community Work

The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of NC (APPCNC) recently honored one of WRAL-TV’s own. WRAL-TV Reporter Amanda Lamb received their Community Awareness Award on Thursday, May 10.

The award recognized Lamb’s work to inform the public about the growing problem and innovative solutions to combat teen pregnancy. Lamb described her attention to the issue during her stead at WRAL-TV: “I have done many stories on this issue, profiling teens, their families and their struggles. Most recently in

the WRAL documentary (April 21), ‘Nueva Carolina,’ I profiled a Wilson teen. WRAL-TV photgrapher Joe Frieda and I followed her through pregnancy, delivery and going back to high school after the baby.”

Lamb said, “I feel honored to have been recognized for my work, but especially honored to be recognized for doing work in an area that really matters to me.”

A non-profit, United Way Agency the APPCNC’s mission is to prevent adolescent pregnancy in North Carolina through education and awareness.
