Meet The Pelicans
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Myrtle Beach Pelicans will have their “Meet the Pelicans” event at Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery on Wednesday, April 5 from 6 PM to 8 PM. This event is the first opportunity for the general public to meet the players and coaches that make up the 2000 team.
The Pelicans earned a share of the 1999 Carolina League Mills Cup Championship. The admission is free and the Happy Hour prices on food and beverage will continue through the event. The players and coaches will sign autographs from 6 PM to 7 PM. From 7 PM to 8 PM, the players and coaches will be introduced by their position.
The Pelicans open the 2000 campaign versus the Lynchburg Hillcats (Pittsburgh Pirates) on Thursday, April 6 at Coastal Federal Field. Game time is 6:35 PM. The first 2,500 fans entering the main gate of Coastal Federal Field will receive a Pelicans magnet schedule courtesy of Overtime Sports Café. Also, “Sport!” formerly known as the “Philly Phanatic” will entertain.
MEDIA DAY INFO: The Myrtle Beach Pelicans media day will be on Tuesday, April 4 beginning at 3 PM at Coastal Federal Field. All the media is invited to interview players and coaches as well as take head shots for newspaper purposes. The 2000 Pelicans will break camp in Orlando, FL and travel to Myrtle Beach on April 3. The official roster will be named on April 2 or 3.
