Carolina Panthers vs. the Green Bay Packers
Sunday, January 12, 1997 – – – A plane with two lucky CBCers leaves Charlotte-Douglas Airport at 8:00 a.m. to go to the NFC Championship game with the Green Bay Packers.
Earlier that week throughout every building, some CBCers said how excited they were that they may win tickets to Green Bay. Others commented that anyone who would go to Green Bay in January was crazy.
The lucky winners: Gil Decker and Jodi Ciferni and her husband, Jim.
First thing Friday morning the drawing was held. The lucky winners, Gil Decker of Property Management and Jodi Ciferni of WJZY, were headed to Green Bay to cheer for the Carolina Panthers. The enthusiastic planeload of Panthers’ fans was led by Capitol Networks’ Panthers Sales Manager, Scott Crites.
Jodi and Gil arrived in Green Bay with the temperature in the single digits and wind chill in the negative teens. That did not stop them from having a good time and cheering for the Panthers. Even though the Panthers lost, they had a great time in the frozen tundra of Green Bay.
The seats turned yellow after every score as the fans waved their yellow towels.
