In order to facilitate the growth within their Christian Broadcaster’s customer base, Microspace recently changed the satellite transmission configuration on the satellite SES-2.
To prepare for this change Joe Amor, Microspace’s VP&GM, worked with the Engineering and Sales staffs to determine the best way to communicate these operational changes to the Christian Broadcaster’s customer base. A formal letter was completed and delivered to all of this industry’s leaders outlining the when, how and what changes were taking place on the satellite.
Microspace’s Satellite SES-2
The Microspace Engineering team began sending the same information to the Christian Broadcaster’s technical contacts via our well established electronic method. Microspace Engineering also updated how to make the change to the receivers manually. As a reminder, this information was redistributed on a weekly basis. Furthermore, it was made available via a dedicated tab on the Microspace website.
On March 2, 2015 at 11:59:52 AM ET the transition was made.

As we all knew, today, March 2, 2015 at 11:59:52 am ET, Microspace changed our satellite carrier on SES-2. The transition was executed perfectly and all our Christian Broadcasters are very happy with the results !!!
There was a great amount of preparation work our Engineering team did, as our services have grown in size and complexity. There are about 3,000 radio stations tuned into this portion of Microspace services and religious content. (According to public information, there are about 11,300 commercial radio stations in the US.) What used to be only analog linear formats are now; linear formats, analog and digital, as well as digital file delivery systems by multiple vendors with multiple protocols.
The Microspace team’s attention to details with each customer’s specific needs, along with the overall upgrade to the satellite transmission was excellently accomplished.
