DBAP Hosts USA and Cuba Before Two Game Bulls Homestand USA/Cuba Friendship Series Finale on Tuesday, Two-Game Set with Gwinnett Starts Wednesday |
USA Baseball will host Cuba in the final game of their Friendship Series on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The park’s regular tenants, the Durham Bulls, return home for a two-game homestand against the Gwinnett Braves starting the next day.
After Team USA won the first three games of their Friendship Series, the first matchup on American soil between the two nations since 1996, the rivalry now shifts to North Carolina. Tuesday’s series finale at the DBAP pits NC State star Carlos Rodon against the Cuban squad that competed in the World Baseball Classic. Team USA also features Rodon’s Wolfpack teammate Trea Turner and UNC standout Skye Bolt. The entire USA Baseball squad will participate in a free autograph session before the game, as gates open at 5:30pm for the 7:05pm contest. A special fireworks show will follow the game.
On Wednesday, July 24, the Durham Bulls return home for a short two-game series against the Gwinnett Braves. Wednesday’s 7:05pm contest against the Atlanta Braves’ top affiliate is presented by Cooper Tire.
The Bulls’ final home game of July is on Thursday, July 25, as the North Carolina Education Lottery presents the 7:05pm series finale. The game features $1 concession items including Bright Leaf hot dogs, popcorn and fries. Thursday is also College Night, where students can get a Terrace Reserved ticket and $5 in Bulls Bucks for just $10 or an Outfield Reserved ticket for only $4.99 by entering the promo code COLLEGE (and using a valid .edu email address) when purchasing tickets online at durhambulls.com.
