With the final numbers in for the November 2018 Nielsen ratings period, WRAL News (Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville DMA) dominated the competition with household ratings wins in every daypart, every day. WRAL News was the most watched local news overall, with outright ratings wins at 4:30A-7A, Noon, 4PM, 5PM, 5:30PM, 6PM and 11PM. The WRAL News on FOX 50 at 7AM and 8AM also showed impressive strength, beating national news CBS This Morning in head to head from 7AM-9AM and beating local news competitors at 10PM. Additionally, WRAL News had more viewers in the key 25-54 audience demo in all newscasts.
The household audience sweep in news ratings showed a major growth story for WRAL, especially in the morning news. The 6AM news team, featuring Renee Chou and anchor Jeff Hogan saw an increase of +39% from the May 2018 ratings period.

The highest rated local newscast in the Triangle is WRAL News at 6PM with David Crabtree and Debra Morgan. The 6PM newscast averaged an impressive 11.1 HH rating and a 3.2 demo rating for the month of November. David Crabtree recently announced he is putting off his retirement for two more years to continue anchoring at 5PM and 6PM.

On the programming front, key highlights from the month of November include:
- Raleigh Christmas Parade 5.9 HH/1.6 P25-54
- Sunday Night Football (12.0/8.6) and Thursday Night Football ( 8.6/5.9) ranked #1/#2 respectively with HH & P25-54 (2+ telecasts M-S prime)
- 10 of the 15 highest rated prime time programs were on WRAL and sister-station WRAZ FOX 50, including the #1 show, NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
