Double the On the Lawn Fun for Father’s Day Weekend Friday Night Music and Sunday Father’s Day Pops Concert at American Tobacco |
Double the free music means double the fun On the Lawn at American Tobacco this Father’s Day weekend. The line-up includes a Friday night On the Lawn concert and then a Pops for Pops jazz tribute on Sunday evening.
American Tobacco’s FREE summer concert series continues this Friday, June 15, 2012, with Adam Hurt, Stephanie Coleman and Beth Williams Hartness. Hurt is fast becoming one of the most respected old time banjo players today. His tasteful style brings a fresh sound to traditional music from the North Carolina mountains..

The music begins at 6pm under the water tower.
Then come back on Sunday for a FREE tribute to Dad. The Pops for Pops Concert features the Durham Community Concert Band and the Durham Jazz Orchestra.
The Durham Community Concert Band is made up of members of all ages and levels of musical talent. Their repertoire includes, marches, classical, semi-classical, patriotic and Broadway. The Durham Jazz Orchestra is an 18-piece band, whose members share a love of jazz and the community.
The Father’s Day concert runs from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday, June 17th. Bring a chair or blanket and pick up dinner from one of American Tobacco’s great restaurants.
On the Lawn Presented by University Ford & Kia and Bull City Bucks will fill the next five months with some old favorites and some new features sure to be a hit among Triangle citizens and beyond.

The Venue The American Tobacco Campus is arguably one of the top venues in the Triangle for enjoying an outdoor concert in an intimate and family-friendly atmosphere. Ample parking and five fine eateries surround the lawn: Cuban Revolution, L’Uva, Tyler’s Taproom, Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers, Tobacco Road Sports Cafe and Saladelia.
Kids are welcome on the lawn where families can enjoy the Ole Bull River that runs through the middle of the campus. As a courtesy to your neighbors, no dogs or coolers please.
