The Girls on the Run 5K and Fun Run was the culminating event for GOTR’s spring 2011 program where over 400 young girls crossed a 5k finish line for the very first time. GOTR is a character development program for girls ages 8-12. Through a combination of running, group activities, individual goal setting and a community service project, girls are taught values that lead to a confident sense of self during the 12-week program.
