Durham Public Schools and the Durham Bulls have entered into a partnership designed to recognize outstanding school district employees who put the team first and bring victory to students.
During each Tuesday game throughout the season, twelve DPS employees will be honored on the field prior to the game. The Bulls have graciously donated four tickets for each honoree.
“The Bulls are proud to be partnering with the school system,” said Matt DeMargel, Durham Bulls Director of Media Relations. “The importance of their work and the level of dedication required often goes unnoticed. We want them to know how much we appreciate their efforts.”
Employees will be selected for recognition by their principals or supervisors based upon the following criteria:
- Perform beyond the scope of normal duties;
- Contribute a significant amount of time/effort toward a project;
- Assist other staff or departments with projects;
- Demonstrate leadership on a special assignment.
“The Bulls continue to be tremendous partners,” said Dr. Eric Becoats, Superintendent. “The new Team First Award has energized our school district and staff members are excited to bring their families to the ballpark.”
Thanks to DBBC’s Matt DeMargel for this capcom story.
