The American Tobacco Campus is arguably one of the top venues in the Triangle for enjoying an outdoor event in an intimate and family-friendly atmosphere. Ample parking and several fine eateries surround the lawn.
Outdoor seating abounds and some restaurants take their grills to the sidewalk, so food and beverages are only steps away. Kids are welcome on the lawn where families can enjoy the Ole Bull River that runs through the middle of the campus.
One of the main events at this year’s Family Fest will be the annual Great American Tobacco Duck Race. The race will take place on the banks of the Ole Bull River at the American Tobacco Campus.
Thousands of ducks will be released simultaneously to race down the river. There will be prizes for winners at both the individual and the corporate level. Prizes will be awarded for 1st to 3rd and last place. There’s also a prize for the “Best Decorated Duck”.
New this year, the Duke Race will benefit not only the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle but Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center and Explorer Post 50.
Individuals and companies can purchase rubber ducks in any increment to enter the race. All proceeds go to the three non-profits; participants can purchase a duck for their choice of the trio.
Stay tuned to capcom for profiles about all three of these worthy charities….
