Twelve members of the North Raleigh Indian Guides (7 year old boys) and their fathers toured the WRAL-TV Studios and presented forty-four coats to the annual “Coats for Kids” campaign. WRAL-TV anchor Debra Morgan accepted the coats and explained how many kids in our community lack basic necessities like clothing and how this donation will benefit some of them.
Brian McCabe, the adult group leader explained that they could have had the boys drop the coats off at an area Jiffy Lube, but thought this was an excellent teachable opportunity. He further stated,” We are trying to teach the boys how fortunate they are and how important their effort to collect coats is to needy children.”… “This outing allowed the dads to reinforce these values/lessons on the boys and learn some cool things about television at the same time.”

The group’s visit was coordinated by WRAL-TV Producer/Director, Clarence Williams who conducted the station tour and arrange for them to witness a “live” newscast.
